UEFA EURO 2020 and Champions League will be Played as Scheduled
UEFA doesn’t Plan to Change nor the EURO 2020, neither the Champions League.
As reported, UEFA maintains its plans regarding both tournaments despite the Covid-19 pandemic situation
The organization isn’t considering modifying its plans for the EURO 2020 or the Champions League despite the rebound in the Covid-19 pandemic that is, affecting all sports.
“As for the EURO 2020 nothing has changed,” as FootGoal.pro reports. Initially, EURO 2020 was scheduled for the summer of 2020. However, it was rescheduled due to Covid-19, and it’s planned to be played between June 11 and July 11 of the current year.
It is also stated that UEFA is planning to play the tournament in 12 EURO 2020 host cities in 12 different countries, as scheduled from the beginning.
What’s more, UEFA doesn’t even rule out having fans in stadiums. It’s expected that UEFA will decide which percentage of the stadium will be full with fans. They will decide between 20%, 30%, 100% full and behind closed doors, city by city.
What about the Champions League will be resumed on 16th and 17th February, like planned before.
In an interview to Swiss media, Dominique Blanc mentioned two possible options: “To play the EURO in a single country, in Russia or Germany (for example) or in a single big city, like London (for example).
UEFA EURO 2020 will be played in 12 countries from June 11 to July 11.
